School’s out and summer is here! While we like to spend as much time as possible spending time playing in and exploring the outdoors (have you checked out our latest summer learning series: the sun? ), we like to have a few games on reserve to play when the craving strikes! Without further ado, here are 6 games we picked that will ensure fun all summer long.

Games to Play During a Rainy Day

When you are stuck inside, here are 3 games to get you off the couch.

Yoga Spinner

YogaSpinner.jpgEncouraging teamwork and physical activity, Yoga Spinner has players learning basic yoga poses by disguising it as a fun game. Players take turns spinning the spinner and performing the pose on the matching color card, trying to hold the pose for 10 seconds. The player who successfully completes a pose from each color category first wins.  Ages 5+, 2+ Players

Happy Salmon

HappySalmon.jpgSure to put a smile on your face, Happy Salmon is a simple, fast paced card game that has players high fiving and running around the table to switch place with other players. The first player to match all the cards in their hand wins. Ages 6+, 3-6 Players

Twangled

Twangled.jpg“Knot” your average game, Twangled is sure to have you in laughs from the beginning. Players are connected by elastic bands and with the help of a spinner (that you spin with your foot!), get themselves tangled up. After each player spins twice, everyone then must work together to untangle themselves. Great for working on listening and teambuilding skills! Ages 6+, 4-8 players

Games to Play by the Pool

When you need a break from swimming, here are 3 games that keep the fun going.

Dunk Hat

Dunk Hat.jpgSure to keep you cool, this easy to play, portable dunk tank, will have you in laughs trying to soak the player wearing the hat. One player wears the hat, while another player gets 3 chances hit the target to “dunk” the person wearing the hat. Ages 5+, 2+ players

Sushi Go Party

Sushi Go Party.jpgWarning – this game may cause sushi cravings after playing. An expansion from the popular Sushi Go game, with its adorable artwork, requires players to pick winning sushi combos. Players will have to think strategically, using their knowledge of the cards in play to make the best combinations possible. Whoever has the most points wins the game! Ages 8+, 2-8 Players

Quixx

Quixx-1.jpgPart luck, part strategy, this quick moving dice game keeps all players involved in every turn. The object of the game is to mark off as many numbers in a row of the same color and the player with the most points wins. Ages 8+, 2-5 Players.
